Superbowl Sunday

Congratulations to the Steelers for becoming the first franchise in NFL history to win 6 Superbowl titles. It was definitely a good game with a spectacular and exciting finish. My team didn't get to the big game but at least the other PA team represented well.

Not many of the readers to these blogs are interested in football or many other sports including two of the authors here. That's ok. The differences are what keeps things interesting. To me the game of football has always been a game of passion, drive, athleticism but most of all beautiful precision. Having played the game and supported my little brothers in playing I have come to appreciate the major efforts involved to constantly execute every facet of every play. When it's done right you can put a lot of cliché’s to the result such as "well oiled machine". I have a fine appreciation for the sport both as a former player and spectator. It keeps me glued to the set even when my hometown team isn't playing. I have a friend who played the game a little in high school but has no desire to watch the game or see what the fan fever is today for these teams. Today, it is him that I feel badly for. To the others who share in my enthusiasm, congratulations on a great game.

Side note on the commercials:

The commercials were a bit lame this year. The Doritos commercials are always good. There were a couple of good Pepsi commercials. Other than that, the movie previews stole the show. Fast and Furious 4. GI Joe. Star Trek. The hands down makes you drool in anticipation preview was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Wow.
