Green Lantern #37, Jordan's 3rd color. A situation that is a rather interesting story line development in my eyes. The Issue was a good read, a lot of madness, some fighting, some bleeding, some dieing some clothes changing.
GREEN LANTERN #37
Written by Geoff Johns; Art by Ivan Reis and Oclair Albert; Cover by Shane Davis and Sandra Hope The prelude to "The Blackest Night" marches on with "Rage of the Red Lanterns" part 3! Hal Jordan continues his journey into the deepest depths of Ysmault, unlocking the strange secrets behind Atrocitus's crimson power and witnessing a bizarre prophecy all his own.
From my point of view, what we have here is the midway point of the second act in this uber Green Lantern story. An "Empire Strikes Back" Level story. Rebirth was basically "A New Hope". I'm Guessing you can figure out what Blackest Night will Be.
This Marks the Third Color Change For Hal Jordan. Now he is a Hopeless, Fearless, Character fueled with a done of Will power and a Ton of Rage. Note, Sinestro Stayed in a Green Electric Chair after the wardrobe change and the Green ring Stayed on,. DC comic's has been all about Symbolism Lately.
The most important thing to Remember, Hal Jordan is "The Green Lantern". This book is only going to get More Interesting as the spring comes along...
What Do You Think?
What do I think eh?
ReplyDeleteHal is red now. Yes the green stayed for the time being. What is going to be the only light capable of dousing the red flame? Blue. Guess what his next color change will be. It may be the only way he comes back from Red. Laira couldn't have the red ring removed without killing her. It does expell your blood and refill it with the red light. I also suspect the lashing out at the Gaurdians will be related to them revoking his green ring. The next big law will be "A green lantern can have only one ring ever."
The book is called "Green Lantern" not "Hal Jordan the Green Lantern". There is too much history, evidence, symbolism, or what have you that says Hal isn't the big green cheese anymore. Well, at lest for a little while.
